FORM INFORMATION

Before deciding to apply for one of our awards or fill out an online application form, you may want to take a look at the information we will require from you. Below is a list of details we will request for applications in each award category, so you can have them ready for when you fill out your application form. These are mandatory fields, but there will be additional fields for optional information.

THE FILM & TV FUNDING AWARD

  • Section 1: The title of your project, a two sentence “sell” or “hook” for your project, <300 words on how your project meets the criteria.
  • Section 2: Your name, date of birth, contact details, address, your role in relation to the project, confirmation that this will be your first director credit on a feature length (for TV, 50 minutes or more) documentary, details of a referee who can verify this.
  • Section 3: A link to teaser footage (on Vimeo) with password, likelihood that you’ll meet the film deadline, our publicity agreement.
  • Section 4: A <2000 word synopsis of your project, an estimated budget (in GBP) of various elements in production and post-production of the film, any existing funding or plans for future funding, details of your production company (or project account/fiscal sponsor), details of your executive producer, confirmation that your project complies with our majority sponsor criteria (see section 4.8 in the Funding Award Terms and Conditions)
  • Section 5: Your background in documentary making (if any), 50 words on how you learnt your filmmaking skills, 50 words on what inspires you to make documentaries, 50 words on how the funding will benefit your project, 50 words on why an audience would really love your film, if you or a member of your team will be able to attend a live pitching event in June 2018, your compliance with rules on transferring funds, your agreement with our terms and conditions.

 

THE RAFA (RADIO & AUDIO FUNDING AWARD)

  • Section 1: The title of your project, a two sentence “sell” or “hook” for your project.
  • Section 2: Your name, if your application is connected to a registered audio production company or if you are applying as a sole producer, details of the production company (if applicable), your role in connection to the application.
  • Section 3: A link to 6 minutes of preliminary sound recording for your project (for judging purposes), confirmation that you have the right to upload this, the likelihood that your programme will be finished before the Autumn 2018 deadline (date TBC).
  • Section 4: A <1500 word synopsis of your project, <300 words on how your project meets the criteria, an estimated budget (in GBP) of various elements in production and post-production of the programme, any existing funding or plans for future funding, details of your executive producer, confirmation that your project complies with our majority sponsor criteria (see section 4.6 in the RAFA Terms and Conditions).
  • Section 5: Your background in audio documentary making, 50 words on how you learnt your documentary making skills, 50 words on what inspires you to make documentaries, 50 words on how the funding will benefit your project, 50 words on why an audience would really love to hear your programme, if you or a member of your team will be able to attend a live pitching event in Summer 2018 (date TBC), your compliance with rules on transferring funds, your agreement with our terms and conditions.

 

THE DARA (DOCUMENTARY AUDIO RECOGNITION AWARD)

  • Your name, contact details, address
  • Title of your programme, name of producer/director, 1000 character (roughly 250 words) synopsis of your programme, cue/introductory material, commissioning or funding body, country of production.
  • Length of programme (must be 15 minutes or more to qualify for this award), when and where your programme was first broadcast or published online
  • Downloadable URL for your programme
  • 60 words on how your programme meets the criteria 
  • Your compliance with rules on transferring prize money, your agreement with our terms and conditions.
